Make it truly theirs
More than their name in a book. Their world goes into their When I Grow Up Book — then you edit the words and the illustrations until it is right.
Their name appears naturally throughout the story — in the telling, not dropped into a gap left for it.
The photo you upload becomes an illustrated character they can recognize, drawn the same way from cover to final page.
The things they love this year become real moments in the adventure, rather than a list of traits.
They are the main character — the one who solves it, helps and makes the big moment happen.
Change the words, ask for different illustrations and keep adjusting every page until it reads the way you want. You approve the book before anything is printed.
Simple from start to finish

Choose up to 12 dream jobs (or type your own), then pick Dream Big, Dress-Up Adventures, or Little Heroes.

We use it to illustrate your child in every career costume — a keepsake that actually looks like them.

See the full book first, personalize further, then choose instant PDF or premium hardcover.
The story, simply explained
However the world you choose begins, the shape is the same: your child tries on every job they picked, and comes back home at the end.
The dream starts as they fall asleep, or the costume box comes open, or they step out of the front door into a busy morning — whichever world you choose.
Every job they picked gets its own page, with the one they want most leading the way. Their face, their name, and the right tools in their hands each time.
They wake up in the morning sun, or stand grinning in the mess they made, or walk home at sunset — ending with the things they love most around them.
Why families choose it
Your child illustrated in every dream job you pick — astronaut, vet, firefighter, chef — in a short, funny story written to them by name.
Choose up to 12, or type your own — and their current dream job comes first in the story.

Helpful answers
It is for children who have started answering the what-do-you-want-to-be question — roughly 1 to 8 — and it is given by parents and grandparents for birthdays, the start of school, or a graduation from nursery. Because their current dream job leads the book, it also works as a time capsule: the answer changes every six months, and this catches the one they had this year.
Your child’s name, up to 12 careers (or your own, if the dream is not on the list), their number one dream job — which comes first in the story — the things they love right now, and one of three stories: Dream Big, Dress-Up Adventures or Little Heroes. Pick fewer than 12 and we round the book out with the careers children their age pick most, so every book is full length whatever you choose.
The character is generated from the photo you upload and kept consistent across every career, so it is recognizably your child as an astronaut, a chef and a vet rather than a different cartoon each page. A clear, front-facing photo gives the best result. You read the whole book before paying and can redraw any page.
We show a shortlist of the careers girls or boys pick most often, so it’s quick to choose — but nothing is off-limits. Type any career into “Other”, on the list or not, and it gets its own page.
Yes — it's a popular grandparent gift. The book is about your grandchild, and the dedication page carries your message to them.
A generic career book shows a stranger doing jobs. A personalized When I Grow Up book shows your child — their face in the astronaut helmet, their name on every page, their real dream job first in the story. It's an aspiration book and a keepsake in one, and it captures exactly what they wanted to be at this age. Preview it free, then choose a PDF for $14.99 or a hardcover for $49.99.
Yes — children engage longer and dream bigger when the hero is them. Seeing their own face as the doctor, the pilot, and the scientist makes those futures feel possible instead of abstract, which is exactly what early-childhood research on identity and aspiration points to.
Most personalized career books only drop a name onto a fixed set of jobs. This one is illustrated from your photo so your child appears in every career, lets you pick the careers yourself (or type your own), offers three distinct stories (Dream Big, Dress-Up Adventures, and Little Heroes) — a dream, a dress-up game, and a busy day in town — starts with their current dream job, and tucks the things they love into the final picture — so it feels made for them, not stamped with their name.
Right now it's the bedtime book where they shout out their favourite job. In ten years it's the record of what they dreamed about when they were four — the fire truck phase, the vet phase, the astronaut phase. Few keepsakes capture a child's imagination at a moment in time this vividly.
A good personalized gift feels specific to the child, not just labelled with their name. A When I Grow Up book starring your child — illustrated from your photo, written to them by name, built around the careers they actually dream about — captures who they are right now in a keepsake that lasts.
Pick up to 12 careers (or type your own), choose one of three stories (Dream Big, Dress-Up Adventures, or Little Heroes), share your child's name and a few details, upload one clear photo, and pick a style like watercolor, Pixar-inspired, or 2D cartoon. The book is created from your answers, with the things they love tucked into the final picture. Preview it free, edit it, and only pay when you love it.
Creating and previewing your book is completely free — no account and no card needed. You read the whole book, page by page, and only pay if you want to keep it. A premium hardcover is $49.99 and the instant digital PDF is $14.99. Standard shipping is included in the hardcover price — the price you see is the total you pay. There is no subscription, and the version you approve is the version we print.
Printing takes 4–5 business days, then the book ships. Orders to the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and India typically arrive in 8–12 business days from the day you order. For other destinations the estimate for your address is shown at checkout. The digital PDF has no printing or shipping wait — it is delivered electronically shortly after purchase, which is the one to choose for a last-minute gift.
The hardcover is approximately 8.5 × 8.5 inches, printed on premium matte paper and bound as a keepsake meant to survive being read at bedtime for years.

You keep the original book either way.
Yes. You can order several copies of the same book — useful when grandparents want one too — and you can create as many different books as you like from one account. Each book is priced individually at $49.99 for a hardcover or $14.99 for a PDF, and each one is previewed and approved separately.
